RdSAP Calculations
What is RdSAP?
RdSAP is a basic version of the SAP calculation procedure. A SAP calculation would be performed by an On Construction Domestic Energy Assessor, while the RdSAP is carried out by a Domestic Energy Assessor. We are accredited to do both assessments. If you would like to book in an EPC survey, phone on our office to book an appointment. Our surveyor or call team will contact you to make an appointment, an assessor will then visit your property to collect the measurements and data required for your EPC.
RdSAP is designed to comply with the UK Building Regulations 2000 Part L1B for existing dwellings. It is used only for the assessment of existing dwellings which have no building control involvement and only an EPC is produced and this is used in the sale or rent of the property being assessed. The purpose of an EPC is to record how energy efficient a property. The certificate will provide a rating of the energy efficiency and CO2 emissions of a building from A to G, where A is very efficient and G is very inefficient.
Who needs an EPC?
From the 21st May 2010 any property that is marketed for sale or put up for rent in England and Wales will need an EPC.
How long is it valid for?
An EPC is valid for 10 years. However if you have made improvements or alterations to the property then you may need to have an updated EPC. Such changes would be: A new boiler, increased loft insulation levels, installed double glazing, or cavity wall insulation.
